On June 16th, students living in Starkville will get a taste of the best classic rock has to offer when MSU’s Riley Stadium plays host to legendary band Three Dog Night. Co-founder Danny Hutton and co-vocalist David Morgan will entertain with classics like Mama Told Me Not to Come, Joy to the World, and Black and White, as well as a string of other hits from these Grammy-nominated icons.
Sensations in the 60’s and 70’s, Three Dog Night never stopped creating new tunes, and their recently released soul-stirring singles Heart of Blues and a-capella Prayer of the Children perfectly complement their 21 consecutive Top 40 Hits. The Best of Three Dog Night: 20th Century Masters album was even on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart for 9 of the last 12 months.
The night kicks off with a pre-show party in Riley Center’s Grand Lobby with refreshments at 6pm, before the main event at 7:30pm. The Center is part of MSU’s Meridian campus, and is located about an hour and half a south of Starkville. Just take US 45-S to I-20 W/I-59 S toward Meridian, and exit at marker 153. You will find Riley Center downtown at 2200 5th St.
