The Old Venice Pizza Co. is one of the most popular eateries in Starkville. They offer “eclectic Italian” food “with a touch of southern Creole.” You can custom design your own pizza, or choose one of their many specialty pizzas: John Wayne Pizza with chicken, cheddar, mozzarella, and BBQ sauce; Daddy Crawdaddy Pizza with a cream cheese base, mozzarella, white onion, roasted red pepper, green bell pepper, Cajun seasoning, and crawfish; the Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza with Alfredo sauce, beef, bacon, cheddar, mozzarella, southwestern chipotle aioli, and tomato; the Mona Lisa Pizza with tomato pesto sauce, artichoke, mushrooms, sweet red onion, feta, mozzarella, and spinach; or a more traditional pizza.
The Lost Pizza Co. was voted the most popular pizza chain in Mississippi. Their Popeye Pizza is a healthy choice with garlic alfredo sauce, grilled chicken, spinach, onions, and cheese. The Kujo Pizza boasts bacon, hickory ham, pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, onions, green peppers, black olives, mushrooms, and cheese. For a truly southern pizza, try the Pit Boss Pizza: BBQ pulled pork, bacon, red onions, BBQ sauce drizzle, and a blend of cheeses.
Stromboli’s is popular with Starkville residents and offers campus specials. In addition to strombolis, calzones, sandwiches, salads, and pasta, they have a wide variety of pizzas. Which would you prefer, the Rotel Pizza with pork sausage, rotel, jalapenos, and cheddar or the Alfonzo Pizza with beef, bacon, onions, pepper, and cheddar? Or would you prefer the Muffaletta Pizza with muffaletta, salami, ham, pepperoni, and mozzarella?
These aren’t the only pizzerias in Starkville, of course, but they are the three most popular. Give them a try, and tell us what you think.
