Starkville is one of the best places in Mississippi to grab lunch, thanks to a diverse range of restaurants catering to regular Mississippi State traffic. We’ve listed a few of our favorite lunch spots below, and we hope you enjoy them!
- City Bagel Cafe (511 University Dr.)
Naturally, the main draw of City Bagel is their wide range of flavorful bagels and the overstuffed sandwiches they make with them. But they also make great pasta dishes, mini-pizzas and salads!
- The Veranda (208 Lincoln Green)
The Veranda is a Southern comfort food restaurant known for their great rotating “blue plate specials.” If you want a hearty lunch, stop by each weekday for an entree accompanied by three sides, a biscuit or cornbread, and a sweet tea or soda for a flat $10.
- The Little Dooey (100 Fellowship St.)
This local institution is probably best known for its pulled pork sandwiches, but don’t miss out on the crawfish, brisket, tamales or nachos either.
- Bulldog Burger (702 University Dr.)
Located right near the University, this is a favorite gathering spot during gameday or to celebrate a Bulldogs victory. The big fat burgers, seasoned fries and doughnut bread pudding are a win at any time, however!
- Newk’s Express Cafe (132 Highway 12)
If you’re seeking a simple but tasty soup and sandwich lunch, this is the place to go. You can get a wide range of sandwiches from hearty to light, and they are also known for their excellent mac n’ cheese made with four different types of cheese.
- Thai Siam (303 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Dr. E)
Thai Siam offers a menu of lunch specials that are available from 11 to 3. These include Drunken Noodles, pad thai, various curries and Thai fried rice.
